Job Overview

The Limpopo Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as an Assistant Director for Human Resource Management & Development. Our mission is to transform society by building conscious and capable citizens through high-quality social development services.

Job Details

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (NQF Level 6)

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Developing business plans that align with the department’s strategic goals.
  • Managing recruitment and selection processes.
  • Overseeing staff benefits and conditions of service.
  • Maintaining the department’s staff establishment records and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinating HR planning and official reporting.
  • Managing employee training and development programs.
  • Monitoring the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS).

Minimum Requirements

  • A recognized qualification (NQF level 6) in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration, or Management.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or junior management role.
  • A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of Public Service Regulations, Acts, and policies.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
  • Proficiency in the PERSAL system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage conflict effectively.
  • Analytical thinking and professional report-writing skills.
  • A commitment to honesty, confidentiality, and excellent customer care.
