Job Overview

As the Assistant Director for Investment Facilitation, you will be responsible for helping investors navigate the legal and regulatory requirements of doing business in South Africa. You will focus on investment visas, policy compliance, and providing long-term support to investors to ensure their business ventures succeed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business Management, Investment Promotion, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in the investment sector, working in either a private company or a government department.

Key Responsibilities

Investment and Visa Support

  • Guide applicants through the immigration and legal processes required for investment visas.
  • Review applications to ensure all information is correct and meets legal standards.
  • Provide recommendations for business and corporate visa applications.
  • Assist foreign investment missions and provide ongoing support for permanent residency requests.

Compliance and Site Visits

  • Visit business sites to verify that investors are following local regulations.
  • Monitor how investments are creating local jobs and supporting local products.
  • Write detailed reports based on site visits and share findings with the Department of Home Affairs when necessary.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Advise investors on the rules for setting up a business in South Africa.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, embassies, and industry associations.
  • Handle investor inquiries and resolve complex issues quickly.
  • Collect feedback from investors to help improve government policies and services.

Policy and Unit Management

  • Create guides and templates to make the compliance process easier for everyone.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare monthly and annual performance reports.
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff members within the unit.
  • Identify potential financial or operational risks and suggest ways to manage them.
