About the Western Cape Education Department (WCED)
The WCED oversees early childhood development as well as primary and secondary education in the province. Our main goals are to strengthen language and mathematics skills, improve matriculation results, and ensure that learners in every community have access to high-quality education.
Requirements
- A relevant National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or a University Degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in an administrative role.
Key Knowledge Areas
Successful candidates should have a solid understanding of the following:
- Information systems used by the Western Cape Government and the Education Department.
- General government policies, procedures, and ICT strategies.
- Intergovernmental relations and stakeholder management.
Required Skills
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for reporting and presentations.
- Organization: Excellent planning, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Technical: Proficiency in data management, information systems, and general computer literacy.
