Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • An NQF 7 qualification in Financial Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

As the Assistant Director, your main duties will include:

  • System Development: Creating and implementing processes to improve financial management and audit outcomes across provincial departments.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all departments follow National Treasury guidelines and maintain high accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Reviewing and reporting on the quality of interim and annual financial statements.
  • Consolidation: Preparing consolidated annual financial statements and audit files for various provincial departments and entities.
  • Support and Training: Helping with operational management and providing training to build financial capacity within provincial departments.
