Role Overview
We are seeking a professional Assistant Director to lead our Recruitment and Selection team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the hiring process, ensuring compliance with public service regulations, and providing expert HR advice to management.
Key Requirements
- Education: A National Diploma or Undergraduate Degree (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role within Human Resource Management.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of Public Service legislation, policies, and recruitment frameworks.
Main Responsibilities
- Recruitment Management: Oversee the entire recruitment process, including shortlisting and interviewing, to ensure the department hires competent staff.
- Policy Implementation: Facilitate information sessions and ensure all hiring activities comply with current legislation and policy frameworks.
- Advisory Services: Provide expert guidance to management on recruitment strategies and human resource best practices.
- Administration: Manage the processing of appointment documents and ensure all new hires are accurately recorded in the PERSAL system.
- Staff Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop HR staff. This includes managing work allocations and performance evaluations.
- Strategic Support: Draft job advertisements, develop internal recruitment policies, and maintain the recruitment database.
- Problem Solving: Conduct investigations into HR-related issues and provide recommendations to management.
