About the Department
The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is responsible for providing administrative and financial support to the South African court system and the judiciary. The department also oversees the National Prosecuting Authority and provides essential legal advice and representation to the government.
Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Director to lead our Recruitment, Selection, and Appointments team. The successful candidate will oversee HR processes and ensure that the department attracts and appoints the right talent in compliance with government regulations.
Requirements
- Education: A recognized NQF level 6 qualification in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resource Management environment at a supervisory level.
- Systems Knowledge: Practical experience with the PERSAL system.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Employment Equity Act, and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
- Financial Framework: Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
Skills and Competencies
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, manage interpersonal conflict, and solve problems effectively.
- Organization: Excellent planning and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, and strong analytical thinking.
