Assistant Director: Researcher (Economic Cluster)

The Office of the Premier is looking for a qualified professional to join the Economic Cluster as an Assistant Director: Researcher. The Office focuses on five main goals: integrated planning, performance monitoring, government communication, security management, and policy coordination.

Educational Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Economics, Financial Management, Auditing, Agricultural Management, or Business Science.
• A post-graduate degree (Honours or Master’s) in any of these fields is highly recommended and will be an added advantage.

Required Experience and Skills

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• At least three years of working experience in research, policy development, or monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of economic policy.
• Experience in research methodology and statistical analysis.
• The ability to write comprehensive reports and interpret complex data.
• Skills in project management, financial management, and people leadership.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced computer literacy.

• A solid understanding of macro and microeconomic issues.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and coordination.
• High ethical standards and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to innovate in service delivery and manage knowledge effectively.
