Assistant Director: Risk and Security Management (Waterberg District)

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting risk and security management services. Your duties will include:

  • Implementing risk management strategies and security policies.
  • Providing support services for risk and security management.
  • Enforcing anti-fraud and anti-corruption standards.
  • Advising management on security policy updates and the security implications of departmental decisions.
  • Leading security awareness campaigns and training programs.
  • Managing surveillance systems and ensuring the proper categorization of documents and computer security.
  • Monitoring security vetting processes in line with Management Information System (MISS) standards.
  • Developing and implementing safety strategies for personnel, information, and assets.

Minimum Requirements

  • A recognized qualification at NQF level 6 or equivalent in Financial Management, Risk Management, or Security Management.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience at a supervisory or junior management level.
  • A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).

Knowledge and Skills

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Public Service Regulations, the PFMA (Public Finance Management Act), Treasury Regulations, and the Public Service Act.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Risk and Security Management Frameworks.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Professional Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written), strong analytical abilities, and professional report writing.
  • Leadership: Proven project management, problem-solving, and people management skills.
