Assistant Financial Accountant

We are currently looking for a professional and motivated Assistant Financial Accountant to join our team in Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Management
- Help identify and record new capital expenditures according to company policy.
- Track monthly depreciation and assist with calculations.
- Support asset audits and reconciliations.
- Assist with the disposal or scrapping of fixed assets.
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Accurately post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare schedules for financial statements, including accruals and prepayments.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process invoices and payments efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier statements and ensure account accuracy.
- Support the collection process and ensure customer accounts are up to date.
Compliance & Support
- Ensure all transactions follow IFRS for SMEs and company policies.
- Maintain internal controls and proper documentation.
- Assist with audits, financial projects, and ERP system updates.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience (experience in a Quick Service Restaurant environment is a plus).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and fixed asset management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and formulas).
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically Sage X3, is an advantage.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
