Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Key Responsibilities
As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department. Your main duties will include:
- Supervising daily operations to ensure all service standards are strictly followed.
- Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas, and staff sections.
- Overseeing the Laundry, Valet, and Uniform Room operations.
- Managing labor costs through effective staff scheduling and productivity monitoring.
- Working with the Chief Engineer to manage preventative maintenance programs.
- Addressing guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Managing the departmental budget, processing invoices, and tracking operational costs.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies to prevent shortages.
- Training and coaching team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Assisting the Executive Housekeeper with renovation projects and interior design maintenance.
- Participating in the Duty Manager program and attending regular departmental meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for a professional leader with the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (A Hospitality Management qualification is highly recommended).
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or training role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and teach a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of Butler training is an advantage.
