Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Librarian to join our team in Bloemfontein. This role is ideal for individuals with a foundational knowledge of library and information science who are looking to grow their careers within a legal environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
  • While no prior experience is required, relevant experience will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of library and information science, including relevant legislation, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience working in a legal or law library is highly desirable.
  • A three-year National Diploma or Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational abilities.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo two pre-entry assessments:

  • A practical exercise to determine technical suitability for the post.
