Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle a variety of administrative and financial tasks to support the department’s operations. Responsibilities include:

• Managing and reconciling monthly petty cash.
• Arranging travel and accommodation bookings for staff.
• Handling internal journal transfers for services provided between departments.
• Ensuring all purchasing of goods and services follows official finance and procurement policies.
• Requesting quotes from service providers and verifying that invoices are accurate.
• Monitoring monthly departmental spending and generating expenditure reports.
• Maintaining organized records of all financial documents, including quotes, invoices, and purchase orders.
• Processing payments and managing the department’s asset register.
• Handling daily sales balances and traffic fine payments.
• Managing inventory and performing regular stock takes of stationery and assets.
• Assisting with financial administration for special events like graduations and registrations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• A Grade 12 certificate or a National Vocational Certificate (NQF level 4).
• Practical experience related to the duties mentioned above.
• A valid South African driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

The following will be an added advantage:

• At least one year of relevant working experience in a finance or administrative role.
• An N6 or National Diploma in Finance or Supply Chain Management.
