Role Summary

The Assistant Professional Officer will support the City’s initiatives regarding substance abuse, gender issues, and vulnerable groups. This role involves coordinating programs, monitoring their quality, and assisting with the development of social policies across the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination: Assist in managing and monitoring the implementation of programs focused on substance abuse and vulnerable groups.
  • Quality Improvement: Evaluate current programs and recommend ways to improve their effectiveness.
  • Strategy and Policy: Provide data and information to help develop and monitor new strategies and policies.
  • City-Wide Support: Help coordinate internal processes to address social challenges throughout Cape Town.

Requirements

  • Education: A three-year tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma).
  • Experience: Between 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Driver’s License: A valid Code EB driver’s license is preferred.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work outside of standard office hours when necessary.
