Assistant Route Technician

The Role
As an Assistant Route Technician, you will support our technical teams in building and maintaining our fiber network. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone looking to grow their skills in the telecommunications industry while working with the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean work sites to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Install network infrastructure and equipment according to site plans.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of hand tools and electrical equipment.
- Distribute supplies and assist with heavy lifting as needed.
- Help experienced technicians with equipment assembly and disassembly.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Learn new technical skills from senior team members.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- A tertiary qualification in IT or Telecommunications is preferred.
- 1 year of experience in fiber splicing or installations.
- A valid Code 8 driver’s license is essential.
- Proven experience using power tools.
- A CFOT certificate is an added advantage.
