Assistant Store Manager – Clicks Grayston

Role Purpose
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations. The successful candidate will drive sales, build customer loyalty, and ensure the store meets all profit and compliance targets while maintaining a high standard of service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Performance: Maximize sales through effective promotional activities, cross-selling, and superior customer service.
- Operational Excellence: Manage store operations including stock control, shrinkage, expenses, and general administration.
- Visual Standards: Ensure the store’s appearance and visual merchandising align with brand standards and promotional requirements.
- Team Leadership: Support the Store Manager in leading, motivating, and managing staff. Assist with daily work schedules and staff records.
- Customer Experience: Implement initiatives that drive customer loyalty and meet targets for the ClubCard program.
- Administration: Efficiently handle administrative tasks, including HR records and time-and-attendance reporting.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Minimum of 50% in both Mathematics and English).
- Qualification: A relevant Retail or Business Management qualification is required (A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred).
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a retail or FMCG assistant management role, or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
- Financial Literacy: Experience managing budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising and promotion principles.
- Knowledge of stock management, risk, and compliance procedures.
- Familiarity with labor legislation and people management practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and basic numeracy.
- A target-driven mindset with a focus on the customer.
