Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Northmead Square in Johannesburg. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in running an efficient store, driving sales growth, and ensuring our customers receive excellent service. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Growth: Drive store performance by maximizing sales, executing promotional activities, and encouraging the team to cross-sell and up-sell.
- Operations: Oversee daily activities including stock management, expense control, and general administration.
- Visual Merchandising: Maintain high store standards by ensuring all displays and promotions reflect the brand image.
- Team Leadership: Support the Store Manager in leading, motivating, and managing staff to meet performance goals.
- Customer Service: Drive customer loyalty through great service and by reaching ClubCard participation targets.
- Administration: Manage daily work schedules, employee records, and HR-related paperwork accurately and on time.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with at least 50% in both Mathematics and English.
- A relevant Retail or Business Management qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience as an Assistant Store Manager in a retail or FMCG environment, or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
- Previous experience managing budgets and financial reports (profit and loss statements).

- Strong understanding of retail operations and merchandising.
- Knowledge of labor legislation and staff management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer use and basic numeracy.
- A target-driven mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.
