Role Purpose
We are looking for a passionate Assistant Store Manager to join our team in George. Your goal will be to support the Store Manager in running an efficient store, driving sales, and building customer loyalty to ensure we remain the customer’s first choice for health and beauty.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales: Meet financial targets by promoting products, cross-selling, and providing excellent customer service.
- Operations: Manage daily store activities, including stock control, reducing shrinkage, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Visual Merchandising: Ensure the store looks professional and that all promotional displays meet brand standards.
- Team Leadership: Support and motivate staff to reach their goals and manage the team effectively when the Store Manager is away.
- Staff Scheduling: Assist with daily work schedules to ensure the store is always properly staffed.
- Customer Experience: Implement initiatives that drive customer loyalty and increase ClubCard participation.
- Administration: Handle HR records, including weekly time and attendance, accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 with at least 50% in both Mathematics and English.
- Qualification: A relevant Retail or Business Management qualification (Degree preferred).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Assistant Store Manager in a retail or FMCG environment, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
- Financial Skills: Experience managing budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.

- Knowledge of stock management, labor legislation, and people management.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and computer literacy.
- A target-driven mindset with a focus on customer service.
- The ability to lead a team and work well under pressure.
