Role Overview
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the branch. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in merchandising, security, and customer service. You will also lead the team and manage the store’s operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Support: Act as the manager on duty when the Store Manager is away.
- Financial Controls: Manage the cash office, handle banking duties, and oversee front-end controls.
- Store Standards: Maintain excellent housekeeping, merchandising, and display standards.
- Team Leadership: Assist in managing staff, maintaining discipline, and ensuring high productivity.
- Stock Control: Monitor and minimize stock loss (shrinkage) and ensure security procedures are followed.
- Sales Growth: Implement sales initiatives to help the store reach its targets and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: A Matric certificate (Grade 12). A background in Mathematics is an advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience in managing people or overseeing a department is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in clothing retail is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, administration, and organizational skills.
- Attributes: You should be a proactive decision-maker with high integrity and a self-motivated attitude.
