About the Role
The Mr Price Group is a leading fashion retailer in South Africa. We are looking for a motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our Power Fashion team in Phokeng. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in daily operations and lead the team to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for stepping in for the Store Manager when needed and ensuring the store remains organized, secure, and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Operations: Manage daily banking, oversee the cash office, and ensure all front-end controls are followed.
- Leadership: Assist in managing and motivating staff, ensuring productivity and discipline.
- Management Support: Act as the Store Manager in their absence and ensure all company procedures are met.
- Sales and Service: Implement sales initiatives to hit store targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintenance: Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and stock organization.
- Loss Prevention: Monitor security and implement measures to minimize stock loss (shrinkage).
Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 (a focus on Mathematics is an advantage).
- Experience: Proven experience in managing people and leading a department. Experience in clothing retail is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, planning, and administrative skills.
- Qualities: You should be a proactive decision-maker with high integrity, honesty, and a self-motivated attitude.
