Assistant Store Manager – Power Fashion (Vryburg Market Street)
The Mr Price Group (MRPG) is a leading fashion value retailer in South Africa, specializing in apparel, homeware, and sportswear. We are currently seeking a professional and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our Power Fashion team at the Vryburg Market Street branch.
Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily operations. You will step in to lead the branch in the manager’s absence, ensuring that company standards for merchandising, security, and customer service are always met.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Assist the Store Manager in leading the team and maintaining staff discipline and productivity.
- Store Operations: Manage the store in the manager’s absence and ensure all company procedures are followed.
- Financial Control: Oversee the cash office, handle banking duties, and maintain strict front-end controls.
- Stock Management: Monitor merchandising standards and implement strategies to minimize stock loss and shrinkage.
- Sales & Service: Drive sales initiatives to reach store targets and provide excellent service to customers.
- Administration: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately.
Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 (a background in Mathematics is an advantage).
- Experience: Proven experience in managing people and overseeing a department. Previous experience in clothing retail is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills. You should be a confident decision-maker.
- Attributes: You must be ethical, honest, and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
