Assistant Store Manager: Power Fashion – Mandela Park, Phuthaditjhaba
Mr Price Group (MRPG) is a leading fashion retailer in South Africa, specializing in apparel, homeware, and sportswear. We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to join our Power Fashion team in Phuthaditjhaba, Free State.
Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of the branch. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of housekeeping, merchandising, and security. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will take full responsibility for the store’s performance and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Management: Relieve the Store Manager and ensure all company procedures are followed.
- Financial Controls: Manage banking duties and oversee the cash office and front-end controls.
- Operations: Maintain excellent standards in merchandising, housekeeping, and stock security.
- Team Leadership: Assist in managing staff and ensuring high levels of productivity.
- Stock Control: Monitor and minimize stock loss (shrinkage).
- Customer Service & Sales: Drive sales initiatives to reach store targets and provide a great shopping experience for customers.
Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 (a focus on Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
- Experience: Proven experience in managing people and overseeing a department.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in clothing retail is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, administration, and organizational skills.
- Personal Attributes: You should be a proactive decision-maker, self-motivated, and demonstrate high levels of honesty and integrity.
