Assistant Unit Leader – Akasia (Pretoria)

Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Unit Leader for our Akasia unit in Pretoria. This is a full-time position focused on providing high-quality patient care, supervising daily operations, and maintaining the clinical standards that National Renal Care is known for.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: A relevant qualification in a specialist nursing area or equivalent (NQF level 7).
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, or registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice).
- Experience: Previous experience in renal nursing is highly recommended.
- Skills: The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
- Standards: A commitment to maintaining health practice standards and following all relevant healthcare legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Perform safe dialysis treatments according to prescriptions and follow all internal clinical procedures.
- Patient Management: Provide excellent patient care within your scope of practice and ensure all clinical records are accurate and up to date.
- Equipment & Quality: Manage medical equipment and participate in quality initiative programs to improve patient outcomes.
- Leadership: Lead the daily shift and supervise the clinical team on the floor.
- Administration: Follow financial policies regarding billing, stock management, and waste control.
- Values: Represent the National Renal Care values and provide “Caring the NRC Way.”
