Assurance Talent Assistant Manager (HR Business Partner)

About the Role

EY is looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team as a Talent Assistant Manager. In this role, you will act as an HR Business Partner, helping to drive business performance and support our employees. You will work closely with leadership to implement people strategies, ensure we follow employment laws, and maintain a positive, inclusive workplace culture in our Bloemfontein and Gqeberha offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations: Manage the full employee journey from hiring to offboarding. This includes maintaining accurate records, handling payroll inputs, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Recruitment: Lead graduate recruitment for the region and help hire experienced professionals. You will also oversee onboarding and retention programs.
  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to managers on team planning, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Employee Wellbeing: Coordinate training programs, wellness initiatives, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Strategic Support: Help senior HR leaders with long-term planning and lead special projects to improve our workplace.
  • Office Oversight: Supervise office facilities and administrative staff where needed.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Communication: Excellent speaking and writing skills, with the ability to listen and build strong relationships.
  • Organization: Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Integrity: The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with total honesty and care.
