Primary Purpose of the Job

Manage the goods receiving area, enforce security measures at the loading dock, and control stock for facilities and catering.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compare purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists for cleaning division deliveries.
  • Process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items (cleaning materials).
  • Organise and store received items in appropriate areas.
  • Update inventory records with received items.
  • Communicate with vendors about delays or problems.
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure they match delivery notes (closed parcels only).
  • Receive and sign for deliveries.
  • Oversee unloading of deliveries from trucks.
  • Maintain records of orders, delivery details, and disbursement logs.
  • Control stock levels and manage stock sheets.
  • Dispense cleaning consumables to cleaning staff.
  • Issue stock from basement storerooms for the catering department.
  • Update the Facilities Manager on stock levels and costings of all cleaning materials.
  • Update the Catering Manager on stock levels.

Qualifications

Matric (high school diploma).

Experience

Two to five years’ experience in a similar role.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English – verbal and written.
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
