The City of Tshwane is looking for a qualified Building Control Professional to join their team in Gauteng. This is a full-time role within the Building and Construction department, suitable for an experienced professional with a background in architecture and local government regulations.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A three-year degree or national diploma in Architecture or a related field.
- Professional Registration: Registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) as an Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist is a strong advantage.
- Experience: At least six years of relevant experience, specifically working in a building control office or local government role focused on building plan approvals.
- Leadership: Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Licensing: A valid Code B driver’s license.
- Skills: Must be computer literate.
- Clearance: Must undergo a criminal record check and provide fingerprints via the Tshwane Metro Police Department.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will handle the following duties:
- Support the deputy director in enforcing National Building Regulations.
- Manage and participate in the approval process for all building plans.
- Review and approve applications related to current town planning schemes and demolition requests within the municipality.
- Provide technical feedback to help guide spatial planning and land use management.
- Act as a point of contact for architects, developers, and the public, providing expert advice and information regarding building projects.
