We are currently looking for professional and safety-conscious Bus Drivers to join our passenger transport team in Cape Town.

Job Summary

As a Professional Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting passengers safely along established routes and scheduled services. Your primary goal is to ensure passengers arrive at their destinations on time while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and professional environment. Please note: Only candidates with proven tourism experience will be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience driving coaches or buses.
  • Licensing: Valid Code EC or EC1 (0,4) driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) held for at least 3 years.
  • Education: Minimum of Grade 8 or equivalent (First School Leaving Certificate).
  • Experience: Proven experience in the tourism industry is essential.
  • Skills: Mastery of defensive driving techniques and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Personal Attributes: Professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Safety

  • Operate the bus strictly according to traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Maintain safe speeds and observe all road signals to ensure passenger safety.
  • Practice defensive driving to avoid accidents and incidents.
  • Use safety equipment correctly, including seatbelts and wheel chocks when parked.
  • Follow authorized routes and stop only at designated locations.

Passenger Service

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Manage passenger registration and assist with the handling of luggage.
  • Control the vehicle’s climate (lighting, heating, and ventilation) for passenger comfort.

Vehicle Maintenance & Administration

  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections and report any defects or malfunctions immediately.
  • Ensure the vehicle is refueled and kept clean at all times.
  • Accurately maintain logbooks and record all trip details and working hours.
  • Report any near-misses, incidents, or property damage to management promptly.
