Call for Nominations: Heritage Funding Panel

The National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) is a statutory body dedicated to preserving our country’s heritage. Since its establishment in 2004, the NHC has worked to ensure that heritage remains a priority for nation-building and national identity. As a schedule 3A public entity, we are committed to cultural conservation and development.

The Opportunity

The NHC is inviting nominations for qualified individuals to serve on the Heritage Funding Panel. This is a three-year appointment. The panel will consist of:

  • One (1) Chairperson
  • Four (4) Members drawn from the heritage sector

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking candidates with relevant expertise and a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Sector Knowledge: Extensive understanding of the South African heritage sector, including History, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Conservation, Curation, and Research.
  • Grant Management: Experience in grant-making processes, including project evaluation, assessment, disbursement, and compliance.
  • Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects successfully.
  • Financial Management: Strong expertise in financial oversight and management.
