Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4). Having Accountancy as a subject is an added advantage.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- License: A valid Code B driver’s license.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to analyze and process data.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer Service: A strong focus on service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Regulations: Candidates must meet the competency standards set by the Local Government: Municipal Staff Regulations.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Handle inquiries regarding water and electricity connections and disconnections.
- Receive and process manual payments from the public.
- Assist customers with filling out relevant forms and ensure all supporting documents are valid.
- Collect deposits for applications according to approved municipal tariffs.
- Manage the daily cash-up process, ensuring the cash float is accurate and complete at all times.
- Update and maintain the debtor database with accurate client information.
- Administer requests for changes in client details.
- Maintain a clean and organized filing system for all documents.
- Provide general administrative support to the supervisor as needed.
