Job Opportunity: Casual Frontshop Assistant
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is South Africa’s leading pharmaceutical retailer. We are looking for a motivated Casual Frontshop Assistant to join our team at the Corkwood Square branch in the Eastern Cape. In this role, you will help maintain our high merchandising standards and provide excellent service to our customers at the point of sale.
Main Responsibilities
- Keep shelves fully stocked, neatly organized, and correctly labeled.
- Monitor stock levels and check for expired products to ensure quality.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide friendly, professional advice.
- Process customer payments including cash, cards, and vouchers accurately.
- Handle loyalty card transactions and process returns when authorized.
- Ensure the storeroom and shop floor are kept clean and tidy.
- Assist with receiving, off-loading, and packing new stock.
- Participate in regular stocktakes and report any damaged or missing items.
- Follow all company policies, including health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent Senior Certificate.
- 0 to 6 months of experience in a retail environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 1 year of retail experience is highly beneficial.
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP knowledge.
- Strong numerical skills for handling transactions.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Special Conditions
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have a clear credit and criminal record.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are required.
- Must be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
