Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have the following:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- At least 10 years of experience after qualifying as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman.
- Basic computer skills (Computer Literacy).
- A valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Technical Management
- Manage technical services and support for teams working in the field, workshops, and offices.
- Ensure all work follows safety regulations and legal requirements.
- Maintain and update technical manuals, drawings, and procedures to include new technology.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
Administration and Planning
- Provide input for the yearly budget and operational plans.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
- Maintain and update department databases and asset records.
- Research new engineering technologies to improve the department’s expertise.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate staff to ensure the team has the skills needed for success.
- Set clear performance standards for subordinates.
- Monitor team performance and take corrective action when necessary to meet goals.
- Coordinate with relevant professional bodies and councils on technical matters.
