Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B Eng or BSc Eng).
  • Professional Registration: Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience: At least six years of post-qualification experience in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in dam engineering, including design, flood hydrology, construction, management, and dam safety.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Must be computer literate with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with the water sector and relevant South African legislation.
  • Travel: A valid, unexpired driver’s license is required. Candidates must be willing to travel across South Africa as needed.
