Chief Industrial Technician (Quantity Surveyor)

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying. A Project Manager Certificate is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software, specifically CCS (Candy).
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, such as GCC and NEC.
  • Familiarity with OHS, Construction, and Environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and people management skills.
  • Experience in technical report writing and quantity tracking.
  • A valid and unexpired driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Financial Strategy: Advise management on the best use of funds and strategies to maximize resources.
  • Tender Management: Prepare bills of quantities and tender documentation to secure fair and equitable contracts for subcontractors.
  • Cost Control: Monitor costs during the construction phase and report findings to management.
  • Reporting: Compile monthly cash flows, analyze project performance, and provide budget projections.
  • Project Planning: Schedule and program construction activities using CCS (Candy) and monitor risks to solve problems early.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure the project is finalized accurately and professionally.
  • Administration: Draft financial statements, evaluate payment certificates, and ensure adequate project progress through resource planning.
