Role Overview: Chief Investment Officer – Listed Investments

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Listed Investments. In this role, you will provide high-level oversight of the corporation’s listed investment portfolio. Your primary goal is to ensure optimal risk-adjusted returns while aligning with our long-term financial and sustainability objectives. You will lead investment strategy, asset allocation, and manager selection across all listed asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Governance

• Develop and implement investment strategies that meet corporate and shareholder goals.
• Refine the Investment Policy Statement and strategic asset allocation frameworks.
• Provide expert insight into capital markets and global investment trends.

Portfolio Management

• Oversee multi-asset portfolios, including equities, fixed income, listed property, and ETFs.
• Ensure all portfolios deliver competitive performance through research-driven decision-making.
• Direct the implementation of active, passive, and thematic investment mandates.

Manager Selection and Risk Oversight

• Lead the due diligence and monitoring of external asset managers.
• Evaluate the performance and risk profiles of all external mandates.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk protocols.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 15 years of senior management experience in the investment industry, with a focus on listed portfolios.
• Leadership: Minimum of five years in an executive or top management position.
• Education: A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: CFA, CA (SA), Pr. Eng, or an equivalent designation.
• Regulatory: FAIS Registered Key Individual (RE 05, 01, and 03 certificates).
