Role Overview
The Chief Provincial Inspector will lead the Public Transport Unit in the Waterberg District. This role focuses on managing operations, maintaining safety standards on the roads, and overseeing the administrative functions of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation and daily operations of the Public Transport Unit (PTU).
- Oversee “stop and check” operations to ensure road safety compliance.
- Manage the unit’s assets, equipment, and resources.
- Lead office administration and general unit management.
Requirements
- A recognized Undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) or equivalent.
- A formal Traffic Diploma.
- A qualification in Road Traffic or Traffic Management is an added advantage.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in traffic law enforcement.
- 3 to 5 years of experience specifically at the level of Principal Provincial Inspector.
- A valid driver’s license.
- No criminal record.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Road Traffic and Safety Acts, the Criminal Procedure Act, and accident reconstruction.
- Leadership: Strong strategic capability, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team through change.
- Communication: Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism: A strong focus on service delivery, customer care, and ethical conduct.
- General Skills: Proficient in computer use and professional problem-solving and analysis.
