Job Description

The ideal candidate will manage the civils team, create schedules, and monitor crew attendance. They will ensure that manpower and resources are sufficient, keep assigned areas clean, and prevent damage to stock during loading and unloading. The role requires clear marking of multiple client orders, reviewing loading and unloading processes, and completing detailed written documentation. The candidate must maintain HACCP and risk management standards, conduct daily vehicle and facility inspections, report on equipment condition, and follow housekeeping best practices. They will also implement and drive the 20‑key system as part of daily operations and complete any reasonable tasks assigned by senior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the civils team.
• Produce schedules and track crew attendance.
• Ensure adequate manpower and resources.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas during operations.
• Identify and prevent damage or defects on stock during loading or unloading.
• Mark and split multiple client orders on vehicles as required.
• Monitor and review loading and unloading of stock or equipment.
• Complete hand‑written verification and detailed documentation.
• Maintain HACCP and risk management compliance.
• Conduct daily inspections of MHE vehicles and facilities, noting risks and improvements.
• Report on facility, product, equipment, and machinery condition, breakages, and incidents.
• Follow general housekeeping rules and best practices.
• Implement and drive the 20‑key system in daily operations.
• Carry out reasonable work‑related instructions or tasks from seniors.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in civils trade is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and basic counting skills.
• Experience in a cold store environment.
• Highly disciplined and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to implement and maintain the 20‑key system.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• High quality reading and writing abilities.
