Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy working environment. Your daily tasks will include:
- Cleaning offices, storerooms, hallways, elevators, and meeting rooms.
- Dusting furniture and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Washing windows, walls, and general kitchen utensils.
- Scrubbing and disinfecting toilets and polishing office floors.
- Using vacuum cleaners and other cleaning machinery.
- Ensuring water coolers are refilled and providing water during meetings.
- Keeping toilets stocked with necessary supplies like toilet paper.
- Maintaining and safely storing all cleaning equipment and materials.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- A Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (must be able to read and write).
- Previous experience in a cleaning environment is a plus but not required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to perform manual work and work well as part of a team.
- A professional attitude, showing punctuality and loyalty.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety measures in a workplace.
- Understanding of the Batho Pele Principles (putting people first).
