About the Role

The Limpopo Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated Community Development Practitioner. Our mission is to transform society by helping citizens become more conscious and capable through integrated social services. In this role, you will work directly with communities to launch and manage projects that improve lives and ensure long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and start community development projects by working closely with local residents and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure community programs are sustainable.
  • Provide administrative support for development activities.
  • Keep up to date with new trends and best practices in the community development field to improve service delivery.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 6) or an equivalent qualification in Development Studies.
  • A valid driver’s license (this requirement may be waived for persons with disabilities).

Knowledge and Skills

  • A deep understanding of community dynamics, human behavior, and social systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant social development laws and legislation.
  • The ability to lead community groups and encourage people to take part in self-empowerment projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic financial management and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use and research.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
