Job Overview

The Limpopo Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated Community Development Practitioner (Grade 1) for the Thabaleshoba area in the Waterberg District. Our mission is to transform society by building conscious and capable citizens through integrated social development services.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will focus on the following performance areas:

• Identify and implement community development projects in partnership with local residents and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant partners to ensure community programs are sustainable.
• Provide administrative support for community development initiatives.
• Stay updated on new developments and best practices in the field to improve service delivery.

Requirements

• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree or NQF level 6 qualification in Development Studies.
• A valid driver’s license (this requirement does not apply to persons with disabilities).

Required Skills and Knowledge

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:

• Expertise: Deep understanding of community development, human behavior, social systems, and relevant legislation.
• Leadership: The ability to coordinate community structures and motivate individuals toward self-empowerment.
• Management: Knowledge of basic financial management and project management.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation and facilitation skills.
• Technical Skills: Computer literacy and research capabilities.
