Job Overview

We are looking for a professional Construction Project Manager to join our Capital Works team in the Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will oversee built environment projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to legal standards.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience:
    • National Higher Diploma (NQF Level 6) in a Built Environment field with at least 4 years and 6 months of certified experience.
    • OR Btech (NQF Level 7) in a Built Environment field with at least 4 years of certified managerial experience.
    • OR Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in a Built Environment field with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Professional Registration: Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager.
  • License: A valid driver’s license is required.

Key Knowledge Areas

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of:

  • Public Service Regulations and the Public Service Act.
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Departmental Strategic Planning.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Provincial Growth and Development Plans for the Eastern Cape.
  • Government programs and HR-related public sector legislation.

  • Project & Financial Management: Proven ability to manage budgets, strategic planning, and project execution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in report writing, analytical thinking, and research and development.
  • Leadership: Strong people management, motivational skills, and the ability to lead diverse teams.
