Role Overview
We are looking for a Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant for our new Kingsburgh Junction store. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards and providing exceptional service to our customers at the point of sale. You will ensure the store looks its best while helping customers find the right products.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep shelves fully stocked, neatly presented, and organized according to store standards.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure all products are within their sell-by dates.
- Process customer payments accurately, including cash, cards, and vouchers.
- Follow Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures for cash handling and security.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, returns, and exchanges in a professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe shopping environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Handle stock deliveries and move items from the storeroom to the shop floor efficiently.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- At least 1 year of retail experience specifically within a Cosmetics department.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
- A certificate in Retail or a related field is required.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Strong customer service focus and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and planograms.
- Honesty, accountability, and good time management.
Special Conditions
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have a clear credit and criminal record.
- Willingness to work retail hours (weekends and public holidays).
- Reliable transport to and from the Kingsburgh Junction area.
