The Limpopo Office of the Premier is dedicated to providing innovative and strategic leadership to ensure service excellence across the province. We oversee the administration of provincial and national legislation to improve the lives of our citizens.
The Role
We are seeking a Deputy Director to lead our Applications Development and Maintenance unit. The successful candidate will ensure our IT systems are modern, efficient, and aligned with user needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications to meet technological and user requirements.
- Implement change management processes for existing systems.
- Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and software licenses with SITA and other IT suppliers.
- Create and implement policies, standards, and guidelines for information systems.
- Maintain accurate records for all system developments and maintenance activities.
- Lead and manage staff within the unit.
- Provide technical support and information systems to employees within the Office.
Requirements
- Education: A National Senior Certificate plus an NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in Systems Development or IT, including three years at an Assistant Director or Junior Management level.
- Certifications: A System Development Certificate is considered an advantage.
- License: A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).

- Experience in change management and knowledge management.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of Public Service legislation, including the Public Service Act, SITA Act, and National ICT Act.
- Familiarity with labor relations and employment acts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
