Role Overview
The Deputy Director of Communications and Stakeholder Management will lead the development of communication and community engagement strategies for the Office of the MMC. This role is responsible for managing systems and procedures that allow the office to communicate effectively with diverse communities, ensuring that political and administrative goals are successfully met.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) plus a Degree in Communication, Public Relations Management, or a related field (NQF Level 7).
- Experience: 7 to 9 years of relevant professional experience.
- License: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Added Advantage: Previous experience working in Public Administration.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
- Strategy and Planning: Developing and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Stakeholder Management: Proactively managing relationships and engagement with diverse community groups.
- Human Resources: Leading and managing staff within the department.
- Financial Oversight: Managing budgets and ensuring financial controls are in place.
- Resource Management: Overseeing the tools, materials, and assets required for the office.
- Governance and Risk: Monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations and risk management protocols.
