About the Limpopo Office of the Premier

The mission of the Limpopo Office of the Premier is to provide innovative, strategic leadership and management to ensure service excellence across the province. The office oversees the administration of provincial and national legislation to improve the lives of all citizens.

Role Purpose

The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating development planning and anti-poverty strategies. This role focuses on aligning strategic plans across different levels of government to ensure integrated and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the development and analysis of provincial policies.
  • Manage integrated development planning across local, provincial, and national government spheres.
  • Coordinate and implement the integrated Provincial Planning cycle.
  • Assess and consolidate provincial strategic plans to ensure consistency.
  • Ensure intergovernmental strategic plans are properly linked with Municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs).

Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a recognized undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Development Studies or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Development Planning.
  • At least three (3) years of experience must be at an Assistant Director or Junior Management level.
  • A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Leadership: Strategic capability, people management, and empowerment.
  • Management: Proficiency in financial management, programme and project management, and change management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Development Planning prescripts and the legislative frameworks governing the Public Service.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including policy analysis and reporting.
  • Tools: Computer literacy and experience with statistical analysis.
