Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Economics, Business Management, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a management role focused on export promotion or trade within either the public or private sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy and Policy Support

Help develop and update export strategies for the European region. You will analyze market trends and trade barriers to help South African businesses remain competitive and enter new markets successfully.

2. Market Access and Promotion

Organize trade missions and exhibitions to promote South African products. You will help local companies understand international regulations and work with foreign missions to resolve any trade challenges.

3. Market Intelligence

Gather and analyze data regarding European market demands and legal requirements. You will create reports and maintain databases to help the department make informed decisions about trade priorities.

4. Stakeholder Relations

Build strong partnerships with exporters, industry bodies, and international diplomats. You will provide ongoing support to businesses to ensure they succeed in the long term.

5. Performance Monitoring

Use tools to track the success of trade programs. You will prepare monthly and annual reports to show progress and find ways to improve our initiatives.

6. Team Management

Manage the financial and human resources of your sub-directorate. This includes supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring all performance targets are met.
