Job Opportunity: Deputy Head (Sports and Recreation)
eThekwini Municipality is a leading metropolitan city located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Deputy Head for our Sports and Recreation department.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, and management of the Recreation and Sports Development sections. This role involves directing the Recreation and Sport Advice Bureau to ensure effective service delivery to the community.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Sport Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or an equivalent related qualification.
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience at a management level, with a minimum of 3 years specifically at a senior management level.
- Licensing: A valid motor vehicle driving license is essential.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and organize the daily operations of the Recreation and Sports Development sections.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to promote sports within the municipality.
- Provide expert guidance and direction to the Sport Advice Bureau.
- Manage departmental resources and staff to achieve community development goals.
