Requirements

  • Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) plus a Diploma or Degree in Nursing (accredited with SANC under R425) or an equivalent qualification that allows for registration as a Professional Nurse.
  • Experience: A minimum of nine (9) years of experience in nursing after registering as a Professional Nurse.
  • Management Experience: At least four (4) years of the required experience must be at a management level.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, email), DHIS, and TIER.NET.
  • License: A valid driver’s license is required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of nursing procedures, the Nursing Act, Health Act, and the Public Service regulatory framework.
  • Familiarity with the Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Batho Pele Principles.
  • Proven leadership skills, including planning, organizing, and clinical problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in mentorship, supervision, Human Resource management, and Financial Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing care delivery and ensure high standards of patient safety.
  • Lead and discipline staff while fostering a professional work environment.
  • Manage departmental resources, including budgets and personnel.
  • Implement and monitor health policies and clinical competencies.
