The National School of Government (NSG) is responsible for ensuring that public servants follow established laws and regulations. The school helps officials develop the skills needed to solve complex delivery problems and innovate within the public sector. We are currently looking for a professional and experienced Director of Accreditation Management to join our team.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Education or Quality Management.
- At least five years of experience in middle or senior management, specifically in accreditation management or a related field.
- A post-graduate qualification in quality assurance, curriculum design, or management is a distinct advantage.
- Professional registration with a relevant body is preferred.
- The successful candidate must be able to pass a high-level security clearance for senior managers.
Technical Knowledge
The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of:
- Institutional and programme accreditation processes.
- Education, Training, and Development (ETD) landscapes and capacity-building needs.
- South African public sector legislation, including the Constitution, Public Service Act, and Public Finance Management Act.
- Regulatory requirements from SAQA, QCTO, and the Council for Higher Education.
- Project management cycles, tools, and methodologies.
- Best practices in quality assurance and accreditation.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Leadership: Ability to set a vision, inspire teams, and manage organizational change.
- Writing and Communication: Advanced skills in writing, editing, and proofreading reports and articles. Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to various audiences.
- Financial Management: Experience in compiling budgets, controlling cash flow, and managing procurement and risk.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
- Digital Proficiency: Advanced computer skills and the ability to work within digital management and reporting environments.
- Strategic Management: Ability to monitor and evaluate activities to ensure they meet organizational goals.
