Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- A valid Code 14 driver’s license and a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least 3 years of experience driving a horse and trailer.
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) with strong communication skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, including shifts and overtime.
- Knowledge of specialized steel is highly recommended.
- A clean driving record and a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
As a Driver, your main duties will include:
- Delivery and Logistics: Safely loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers on schedule. You will review orders to ensure they are complete and correct.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting daily vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical issues, and keeping the truck clean and refueled.
- Equipment Operation: Operating heavy machinery, including trucks, overhead cranes, and forklifts, when required.
- Documentation: Ensuring all trip sheets and delivery notes are accurately signed and returned.
- Customer Service: Providing professional service to clients, handling complaints effectively, and maintaining a positive company image.
- Safety and Compliance: Following all traffic laws, adhering to assigned routes, and ensuring vehicles are not overloaded.
