The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as the Chairperson of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. The GCIS is responsible for setting communication standards, driving government messaging, and keeping the public informed about government policies and achievements.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of management experience.
  • Must be an independent external professional with no current ties to the department.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, ISO31000, King IV Report on Corporate Governance, and the Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
  • Previous experience serving as a Chairperson or member of a Risk Management Committee, Audit Committee, or similar oversight body.
  • Proven expertise in Enterprise Risk Management, Auditing, Financial Management, Information Technology, and Corporate Governance.
  • Experience in Performance Management, Project Management, Compliance, Ethics, and Business Continuity Management.
  • Experience working within a communications environment is a significant advantage.

You should have the ability to lead oversight committees effectively and ensure the organization adheres to the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
