Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Honours degree (NQF level 8) in Natural or Environmental Sciences.
- At least three years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of environmental law, including the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and the Antarctic Treaty.
- Experience in environmental audits, compliance inspections, or law enforcement.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
Special Conditions and Skills
- Travel: You must be willing to travel extensively. This includes living and working at the Prince Edward Islands and Antarctica for three months or more every year.
- Resilience: You must be able to work independently and as part of a team under physically challenging and stressful conditions.
- Experience: Previous experience working in the Antarctic or sub-Antarctic regions is a strong advantage.
- Administration: A good understanding of government administrative procedures and policies is required.
